Complete hydatidiform molar pregnancy with a co-existing fetus: A case report
Objective - Complete hydatidiform molar pregnancy with a coexisting fetus (CHMCF) is a rare condition affecting 1 in 20,000-100,000 pregnancies1. It is fraught with potential complications such as spontaneous abortion, hyperemesis, hyperthyroidism, preterm delivery, intrauterine death, preeclampsia and haemorrhage1,2,3. Due to the increasing availability of ultrasound, CHMCF is often diagnosed in early pregnancy and surgically evacuated prior to the onset of these complications1,2. We present the clinical course of a CHMCF diagnosed at a district hospital in the UK.
