What is congenital analbumnaemia (CA)?
•Rare inherited autosomal recessive disease, prevalence of <1 in 1 000 000
•Characterised by absence or very low levels of human serum albumin.
•Diagnosis is confirmed via plasma protein electrophoresis or mutations in the gene encoding albumin.
