Case Presentation

On 1 concept: A case report.

One stage implant surgery is the goal to accomplish better results and less discomfort for the patients. In order to achieve this Nobel Biocare has created the On1 concept as a prosthetic solution. The use of this abutment also converts the bone levelimplant to a tissue level, to minimize tissue disruption. The purpose of this poster is to report a case of implant placement and utilizing this new concept for the abutment

A 67 year old male patient presented to the clinic with partialedentulous maxilla and mandible. Patient had generalized wear and was indicated for full mouth reconstruction to increase VDO for better esthetics, restorative space and level occlusal plane (figure 1).

Implant placement on site of #30 and #31 was indicated to achieve bilateral posterior support. A CBCT and intraoral scan were taken to plan the implant surgery with implant planning software (DTX Studio Implant, Nobel Biocare, Sweden) (figure 2).

The day of the surgery 3 implants WP 5.5mm Conical Connection (Nobel Biocare, Sweden) were placed on sites of #30 and 31 (figure 3). On1 WP abutments were placed and torqued to 35Ncm. After 4 months healing caps were removed (figure 4), and intraoral scan was done to fabricate PMMA milled provisionalsrestorations (figure 5). Patient is currently in the provisional stageto create emergence profile for final restorations.

The On1 abutments are ideal to achieve a one stage implant surgery. Patients comfort is a true benefit, as well as healing around the abutments was very precise. Some limitations with using this system included not allowing to correct the angulation, and screw loosening of the abutment.
