Background-. • Vascular access devices (VADs) such as peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) is essential and common components of modern healthcare practice. PICC are widely used for patients requiring medium to long-term intravenous therapy in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Despite many advantages, PICC-related complications can occur such as infection, thrombosis or mechanical complications. • All participants handling PICC has been trained and therefore this study is to identify gap among nurses performing PICC Flushing and dressing
AIM- 1. To identify gap among nurses performing PICC flushing & dressing. • 2. To find association between demographic data & observed practices among nurses
METHODLOGY- • Research design: -Prospective observational method. • Sample: Nurses • Sample size-22 • Sampling technique-Non probability convenient sampling • Tool-Structured checklist • Technique-Observation • Setting-Tertiary cancer care center • Data analysis-Descriptive and inferential statistics.
CONCLUSION- • Nurses compliance for PICC maintenance was satisfactory.Their practices were influenced by the availability of guidelines used in tertiary care hospital by nurses. • Training & compliance is to be enhanced in right explanation and complete documentation.
