The Strengthening of Management Activities to Reduce Phlebitis and Drug Extravasation

Introduction : Phlebitis and extravasation are known as representative complications during the intravenous injection treatment process among inpatients. According to the patient area risk evaluation results, the patient risk for intravenous injection-related complications remained high, after factors such as the aging patient group, increased number of chronically ill patients, and increased proportion of new medical staff were accounted for. Hence, this study, conducted by a multidisciplinary team, aimed to determine a systematic method for preventing and managing peripheral vein complications.
