Reshaping and Restructuring Patient Safety Framework in Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre , Malaysia

Introduction : For the past year Patient Safety has been one of the major challenges globally for any healthcare, according to WHO “Patient Safety is a health care discipline that emerged with the evolving complexity in health care systems and the resulting rise of patient harm in health care facilities”. With this conscious and urgency, we reshape and restructure our Patient Safety Framework at Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre

Aim : To reduce the Percentage of Patient Safety Incident and implement structured Patient Safety Framework in BTMC

Method : Implementation of Patient Safety Framework which focus on 5 areas , Leadership, Continous Training, Reporting of Safety Event, Quality Initiave/Project and Risk Management.

Result : Overall Patient Safety framework implemented has shows a positive improvement and staff compliance, with this structured approach numbers of patient safety incident also show a downwards trends.
