Introduction:

NABH is a constituent board of Quality Council of India (QCI) established in 1997

NABH today, since its foundation in 2006, has more than 98% share of all the accredited facilities in India

NABH has about 23 programs with a single mission of patient safety and creating an ecosystem of quality in healthcare.

Quality healthcare should reach to the masses based in Tier I and Tier II cities.

The current topic will undoubtedly pave a way to create awareness about the need for Entry Level Certification Programme.

Aim:

The primary aim of this topic is to highlight the importance of Entry Level Certification Programme

Approximately 50,000 Health care organizations are functioning in India

Out of which significant number fall under the Small Healthcare Organization (SHCO)

Challenges: Lack of knowledge, poor insurance coverage

Entry Level Certification will undoubtedly benefit the SHCO’s to imbibe the quality in all spokes.

Method:

NABH launched "Entry level Certification Standards“ in the year 2014

Entry Level standards as drafted by the Technical Committee of NABH

It focus on the minimum critical elements important for patient safety.

The following accounts to its reach to grass root level:Affordable,Achievable,Sustainable,Flexible

It will be a stepping stone to full accreditation process

Conclusions:

It is designed in such a way to encourage the hospitals to start the journey of quality

The certification requires hospitals to meet standards for quality and safety

The entry level standards are based on evidence-based practices

In nutshell- Entry Level Certification Programme is able to touch the targeted goal by inculcating the quality in the daily routine of SHCO’s

It will be a stepping stone to full accreditation process
