Objective:

Endoscopic mitral valve surgery is relatively new in mitral valve surgery field. It has potential to become a standard of care for isolated mitral valve surgery. Aim of this study to review experience of endoscopic mitral valve surgery program of 11 years.

Materials: A total of 1006 patients underwent from 1 January 2015 to 1 Gen 2026 mitral valve surgery as a isolated or combined with tricuspid valve surgery through the right mini-thoracotomy. All procedures were performed using endoscopic approach previously described by our team.

Results:

Overall mortality for these series was 2 (0.2%). Allover repair rate was 729 (80.5%). Survival rate at mean 51.8900319 months of follow up mortality rate was 59 (5.864811%). Repair rate on degenerative disease alone was 708 (90,1%). In 11 years of experience 5 new operators were formed. All the resulting newbie surgeons perform at least 30/cases a year. There were non survival differences when stratified for sex, mitral procedure type or high bmi cohort.

Conclusions: Within 11 years of endoscopic mitral valve surgery it proved to be safe, reliable, reproduce with excellent results. In our institution it is considered as approach for all-comers.
