Aesthetic Breast/Body Contouring
As GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide) become increasingly common in patients seeking elective plastic surgery, their impact on wound healing remains poorly characterized. Using TriNetX and 1:1 propensity score matching on 24 covariates, we compared 30-, 90-, 180-, and 365-day postoperative outcomes in breast reduction patients with and without prior GLP-1 use. GLP-1 therapy was not associated with increased major complications but was linked to higher post-procedural wound care utilization and lower fat necrosis at one year.
