Introduction
The BEGOTTEN study[1] is a prospective cohort study across a multi-
ethnic population in the Royal London over 24 months that aims to look
at how fetal growth patterns and maternal blood pressures affect post-
natal outcomes with an emphasis in a multi-ethnic cohort in East
London.
This analysis aims to examine and describe the demographic data
collected from the BEGOTTEN study thus far, providing an insight into
demographic trends within a multi-ethnic population in East London.
Discussion
The descriptive demographic analysis of the BEGOTTEN study highlights the diverse composition of the East London population, with a significant representation from South Asian
backgrounds. The data on maternal age, literacy status, BMI and smoking status provide a crucial context for future analyses of study outcomes.
These findings underline the importance of culturally tailored health interventions to meet the specific needs of this multi-ethnic community. Future research should continue to explore these
demographic patterns to inform targeted healthcare strategies and policy-making.
