Successful perinatal outcomes in women with autoimmune disorders in a LMIC

Part of Topic

High risk pregnancy

Successful perinatal outcome in women with autoimmune disorders in LMIC.

Autoimmune disorder - result due an aberration in the process of recognising self from
non self.

Incidence - 7 % world wide, with a high female preponderance especially in the
reproductive age group

MILES (Michigan lupus epidemiology and surveillance) program demonstrate a peak
between the age group of 25-29 years in black and between 30-34 years in white
population.

Studies conducted across different populations propose that, autoimmune disorders can
differ across populations and not one disease has the similar epidemiology.
