Background
The retrodural space of Okada is a potential space that is located dorsal to the ligamentum flavum that was initially described by Dr. Kikuzo Okada in 1981(2). This space may serve as a connection between bilateral facet joints that may serve as a conduit for inflammatory and infectious processes. Although this space is a potential space, it may be encountered during interventional spine procedures especially inpatients with defects of the par interarticularis.
