Can a one-month app move the needle on brain health literacy?
We built the CARE Platform (Lola) with and for African American/Black adults — the community it's meant to serve — and tested whether it works.
After just one month:
- Alzheimer's disease knowledge rose significantly (+1.91; p < .001)
- Brain health knowledge rose too (+0.65; p = .013)
- Ease of use stayed high for everyone, regardless of how much they used it
But here's the twist: knowing more didn't translate into wanting to join research. Literacy went up; research intent didn't budge.
Come find out what that gap means for reaching communities left out of ADRD research — and what we think it takes to close it.
