New centre funded by the British Heart Foundation and the UK Dementia Research Institute will uncover how vascular and brain function interact to cause disease and therefore suggest new avenues to treat vascular dementia and related conditions.
Based in London (UCL), Edinburgh and Oxford, 8 research groups are pursuing complementary research programs studying how the different cells of the neurovascular unit impact and are impacted by small vessel disease, Alzheimer’s disease and cerebral amyloid angiopathy .
