ROBOTICALLY ASSISTED SONIC THERAPY (RAST) FOR RENAL ABLATION IN  A PORCINE MODEL: INITIAL PRECLINICAL RESULTS

•Robotically Assisted Sonic Therapy (RAST) is a non-invasive and non-thermal focused ultrasound technology that utilizes short duration, low duty cycle pulses with high peak negative pressures
•Cellular tissue disruption caused by cavitation, where microbubbles expand and collapse to cause mechanical trauma
•Never before studied in a live large animal kidney model with clinically relevant ablation size

 

Purpose: To evaluate the acute and chronic effects of renal RAST in a porcine model with CT and histopathological correlation
