A Randomized Controlled Trial to Improve Oral Hygiene During Orthodontic Treatment
Many complications are found to be associated with orthodontic treatment (Alani et al., 2016). The most commonly reported ones are increased dental and periodontal problems. Between 5% and 10% of orthodontic patients are estimated to be unable to complete treatment for this reason (Fiel et al., 2002) . Compliance with dental home preventive measures is usually found to be rather low (Berlin et al., 2012). The literature advocates the use of several methods to improve compliance among orthodontic patients.
