Over 11 years and 21 biannual sessions, this NHS glaucoma patient support programme analysed feedback from 1,126 patients,  the UK's longest study of its kind. Patients consistently left with significantly better understanding of their condition (+28.1%), greater confidence managing eye drops (+26.0%), improved emotional wellbeing (+27.5%), and higher satisfaction with their care (+33.2%). First-time attendees benefited most. The evidence is clear: structured patient education works, and every NHS Trust should have one.
