Long-term Outcomes of High-Frequency Spinal Cord Stimulation (HF-SCS) at 10 kHz in Routine Practice

JP Van Buyten, I Smet

Multidisciplinary Pain Center AZ Nikolaas, St Niklaas, Belgium

Introduction

Paresthesia-independent high frequency spinal cord stimulation (HF-SCS) at 10 kHz has been shown to provide superior outcomes compared to traditional low frequency SCS when treating patients with chronic, intractable back and leg pain (Kapural et al., 2015). We report here our daily practice results with this therapy in patients with both back and leg pain, and compare them to the results of the EU study in which we were involved (Van Buyten 2012, Al-Kaisy 2013).
