Introduction: Padi accreditation plays a crucial role in the field of radiology, ensuring that services and practices meet the highest established safety and quality standards. The Accreditation Program in Diagnostic Imaging (Padi) of the Brazilian College of Radiology ensures that institutions adopt practices that guarantee patient safety, diagnostic accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and best global practices, in a sustainable and long-lasting manner. The objective of this work is to present the results of the positive and sustainable impact of Padi accreditation on health institutions.

Methods: Survey of 19 Padi accredited services since 2017. Survey of the number of Non-Conformities (NC) identified in the three audits carried out (accreditation three-year period) to observe whether the number of NCs had fallen over the three-year period, demonstrating the improvement of the process, post Padi accreditation .

Results: The results demonstrated that 58% of the services evaluated had a drop in the number of non-conformities during the three audits carried out during the three-year period of Padi accreditation, demonstrating evolution and improvement of processes. 26% of services had a drop in non-conformities between the 2nd and 3rd audit, and 16% had an increase in NCs in the 3rd cycle, compared to the 1st cycle and 2nd accreditation cycle.

Conclusion: More than 84% of Padi accredited services demonstrated evolution and improvement of processes, resulting from the accreditation process. The results demonstrate that Padi accreditation plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining safety and quality standards, providing significant benefits for patients, healthcare professionals and institutions.
