This study investigates the association between foot deformities and the risk of amputation in a large Danish population with diabetes. Utilizing data from the Danish Foot Status Database, which includes 240,000 individuals assessed by state authorized podiatrists, we conducted a nested case-control study to analyze risk factors. Our findings highlight that rigid foot deformities significantly increase the risk of both diabetic foot ulcers and amputations. These results emphasize the need for targeted screening and preventive care to reduce diabetic foot complications and improve patient outcomes.
