Title

Improving compliance to follow-up alerts in chest x-rays with consolidation through clinician education

Introduction
BTS recommended follow up CXRs after completing treatment for patients with consolidation in CXR to ensure resolution of initial consolidation or diagnosing other sinister pathology. A review of compliance to follow up alert by radiologist for CXR with consolidation was done and based on this intervention was initiated in Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust

Objectives
To ensure all patient with consolidation in initial CXR have a follow up CXR
To ensure that the follow up CXR are done within the time frame recommended by the radiologist on the report

Conclusion
Most of the patients from both cycles were from the ED and GP with very little percentage from the ward.
There was significant improvement in compliance with repeat chest x-rays as well as timing after our presentation to the physician.
We hope to do further study to identify proportion of patient with abnormality in followup chest as well as the nature of these abnormalities.
