Paranasal maxillary sinus opacification : are they all just mucoperiosteal disease/polyps?
Opacification of the maxillary sinus is a frequent incidental finding on CT or MRI head and neck examinations. Even though the appearances on CT may look similar from one case to another, there are several different underlying causes for the opacification. By using a series of specific questions, the reporting radiologist would be able to narrow the differentials and guide further investigations
