Peripheral Nerve Injuries after Orthopedic Procedures: The Effect of Nerve Decompressions on Pain and Quality of Life
Peripheral nerve injuries (PNI) are rare complications after orthopedic procedures and arthroplasties, occurring in up to 7% of cases. PNIs can result in loss of function, sensory disturbances and chronic pain
Treatment options depend on the time of presentation and include nerve transfers and nerve decompressions
The aim of this study was to evaluate the presentation of PNIs after orthopedic procedures and arthroplasties and provide options to improve pain
