This pilot randomized controlled trial evaluated a 12-week home-based multidomain mobile intervention for mild cognitive impairment. Participants received either app-based exercise, cognitive training, and a memory diary, or an active control intervention consisting of app-based exercise only. Although no significant group-level cognitive benefit was observed at 12 weeks, greater total app use and exercise engagement were associated with better K-MMSE-2 and ADCS-ADL-MCI outcomes. Overall engagement and adherence were low, suggesting that sustained app use may be a key barrier to efficacy in mobile multidomain interventions for MCI.
Keywords: mild cognitive impairment; mobile health; digital intervention; multidomain intervention; cognitive training; exercise; engagement; adherence; feasibility.
